Directions

It's pretty easy to find your way around DC, the touristy parts at least. If you can find the Capital Building, you can find the Washington Monument. If you can do that, you can visit most of the museums under the Smithsonian umbrella. And, if you can find the Washington Monument, you can find the reflecting pools and all the presidential and war memorials. They all run in a straight line called The Mall between the Capital building and the Washington Monument, with all the memorials behind the Washington Monument. There is no way that you can get lost unless you are with a friend who has little to no sense of direction. I continually had to steer my aunt Isabel in the right direction. Who knows where we would have ended up if I'd let her lead!
